A Crack in the Ice
Author(s): Stevie Davenport
In 1991 a young man dies naked, deep in a crevasse, west of Mawson Station, within Australian Antarctic Territory. Perhaps misadventure, perhaps not, the death has a political connection. The Australian Federal Police are called in.
Lead investigator Sam Connell is capable, but a loner and a little 'on the spectrum'. His team are Detective Nina Caporelli and forensic pathologist, Dr Phil Sharp. On arrival in Antarctica, they find a mix of cooperation and hostility from twenty-three expeditioners emerging from a long, dark winter.
A difficult and convoluted investigation is complicated by the challenging environment and sharing living space with a potential murderer.
Adventure/crime fiction/romance, ode to Antarctica.
