While he was in the employ of the Compagnie des Indes Orientales, he made a number of voyages to India, collecting ingredients and formulas for his sealing wax and inks. Blue Ocean ink, a deep and dense color, is majestic owing to its golden glitter sparkling with a million lights. It is a tribute to the color of the sea dear to the navigator Herbin during his various trips. |
